Transformative Educational Support and Power for All Families and Learners.

At Empowerment Education Services, we serve all students. We see families and children who deserve support, respect, and a fair chance to thrive. Our mission is to walk alongside parents and teach them how to step confidently into their inherent power as the true authority in their children's lives.
Nobody knows a child better than their family. School systems have administrators, but parents have the ultimate authority. We help you claim that space at every meeting, evaluation, and decision point.
True community support happens when knowledge is shared. Our mission is to pass down practical, grounded advocacy tools to you, so you can stand strong and pass that knowledge along to help other families.
Built on a 30-year foundation of grassroots family organizing and educational leadership, we help parents secure inclusive, fair learning environments where all children can achieve their full potential.
"Parental advocacy for all, together we win."
— Talibah Roberts, Founder
Talibah Roberts is an educator and parent advocate with over 30 years of experience serving New York City’s public and charter school communities. As the founder of Empowerment Education Services, her life's work is centered on advancing educational equity and fostering meaningful family engagement, particularly within marginalized and underserved neighborhoods. Her professional background is supported by a steady commitment to learning. She is currently a Ph.D. student at Fordham University, specializing in Innovative Curriculum Development. She also holds three advanced degrees: a Master of Science in Human Resources and Leadership from Fordham University, a Master’s in Educational Administration from Mercy University, and a Master’s in English Education from Lehman College (CUNY), where she graduated with honors and distinction.
Talibah’s path is deeply rooted in a family tradition of grassroots advocacy. Raised in a Puerto Rican migrant family, she grew up understanding firsthand how to tap into parental power and advocacy. She watched her mother, Iris Milta Pizarro Cruz, work directly alongside the legendary community activist Dr. Evelina Antonetty.
In the 1970s, under Antonetty’s leadership at United Bronx Parents (UBP), Talibah’s mother taught her how to rally, mobilize, and fight for the rights of children. Their historic efforts helped organize Puerto Rican and Black parents to address systemic challenges, including racism, ableism, and institutional bias against Spanish-speaking students. Growing up surrounded by this movement instilled in Talibah a foundational truth: parents are the true authority in their children's lives.
While parents possess the ultimate authority, they sometimes do not know how to navigate complex school systems or advocate effectively for their children's rights. This is exactly what Talibah teaches. Following the principles of "each one, teach one," her true legacy is passing these advocacy tools down to the next generation of families so they can stand strong on their own.
Throughout her career, she has focused on bridging the gap between school systems and the homes they serve, with a special dedication to supporting English Language Learners and neurodivergent students. Her focus on family care extends beyond traditional classrooms; as the founder of Asthma Mom Inc, she previously built an initiative dedicated to supporting and advocating for children with asthma and their families as they navigated the school environment.
Today, through Empowerment Education Services, she continues to provide practical, grounded assistance to families. Whether she is reviewing IEP/504 data to help parents understand their rights, providing direct student coaching, or sharing student leadership frameworks with local school networks, her goal remains steady: to build inclusive, fair learning environments by teaching parents how to confidently use their power.
To stay aligned with current educational research and advocacy practices, Talibah maintains active memberships with the following organizations:
At Empowerment Education Services, we offer practical, grounded support to help you navigate the school system and put the authority back in your hands. We serve all families and all learners.
If your child has an Individualized Education Program (IEP) or a 504 Plan—or if you feel they need one—the paperwork and school jargon can be overwhelming. We sit down with you to review all school records, evaluations, and reports.
You do not have to face complex school systems alone. We teach you how to prepare for high-stakes school meetings, ask the right questions, and hold administrators accountable.
A child's success at school starts with a supportive structure at home. We audit your home environment and help you set up dedicated learning spaces or home learning centers that reduce distractions and make studying feel natural.
We teach students and families the vital life habits that traditional classrooms often leave out, focusing heavily on time management, emotional regulation, and daily routines.
